The owners, Eric and Ann-Sofie Pontius, are married with two children. Eric is a southern California native , who grew up in Norwalk. He served four years in the U.S.M.C. and is veteran of Desert Storm. After being honorably discharged in 1992, he attended College of the Desert and eventually transferred to U.C. Berkeley. It is there were he met Ann-Sofie, who was at that time a Swedish citizen working in Albany, CA. Moving to the Palm Springs area in 2003 to start their business, Bar One Beverage Catering, they found a hidden gem in Playoffs and have been tinkering with it ever since.
Playoffs Sports Lounge is a friendly and eclectic sports oasis in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Twelve High Definition big screen televisions show all the major sporting events and many of the sports packages, including the NFL Sunday Ticket. The kitchen is open all night for those looking for a late night snack.
